Here's another rarity

The ever-awesome atxbs.com posted this rarity: security camera images of two asshats stealing a bike.

I was forwarded this craigslist posting by two of our readers. What makes it interesting is that it has a couple surveillance camera photos of the thieves in action to back it up. Read on for the details:

BIKE STOLEN/PICTURES OF THIEVES (Annie and Congress)
Date: 2009-08-25, 1:41PM CDT

My 2007 Red Trek 1500SL was stolen SUNDAY morning, August 23rd, around 10:40am. It was locked up in a covered/partially closed parking lot on the corner of South Congress and Annie. Below I have attached a picture of my bike and pictures of the TWO THIEVES.

Two interesting points about this:

a) These to asshats appear to be carrying a length of pipe, which can be used as a pry bar to pop U-locks, according to Wikipedia.

Heck, for that matter, here's some Dutch guy blowing through 8 locks in less then 90 seconds each, showing just how pointless some of those beefed up chains and U-locks really are.

b) Portland had a similar situation recently where one of these idiots got caught on camera. He pled guilty to three charges a while back. Yaaay for cameras actually making a difference.
