Heidi's website has a much more navigable guide to her series which contains tons of localized coverage on the bike theft problem - including awesome coverage on the work that BikePortland.org, Ofc. Pickett of the PPD, and myself are trying to put into place here in Portland.
This dovetails nicely with a couple of discussions I'm having with people here about things like Craigslist, Ebay, bike shops and stolen goods, and of course the Unwired: Future of Bikes talk I just found out I'm giving in May.
